The world of sports is not immune to ignorance. Much like the rest of the world ignorance is rampant and some would argue – like us – that in the world of sports ignorance is off the charts. That is why it is necessary to being this commentary with the definition of ignorance.
Lack of knowledge, education or awareness – well the world of sports hits the bullseye three times. The lack of these items is, of course, by choice. Never in the history of mankind has more information been available to so many to learn so much. At the same time, never in the history of mankind have so many chosen to know so little about so much. Toss in some misinformation for a corrupt, despicable media, media sources, progressive corporate entities that are internet leaders and you have a counterweight to knowledge and truth.
The ignorance in sports is no surprise and has been taken as a given. The label ‘Dumb Jocks’ come to mind immediately, along with degrees in basket weaving. Nowadays the degrees are in Black Studies. Ethnic Studies, Women Studies, Communications and pretty much any useless degree coming from a liberal arts university.
What is somewhat surprising and hugely disappointing is the massive ignorance among the coaches, management and sports organizations. You talk about willful ignorance. Athletes may be willfully ignorant because they think that having knowledge is a white man construct, but any others being willfully ignorant speaks more to the intelligence of the individual and their ability to reason. They hit the daily double with ignorance and stupidity which is a lethal combination.
Ignorance in the sports world has really become front page news since 2008 when the US elected the worst President in the history of the Republic – The Brown Clown Barack Obama. The BC, single handedly, exponentially escalated racial tension in several instances – Louis Gates; Trayvon Martin; the Fort Hood shooting; Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri; Freddie in Baltimore; the non-use of the words ‘Islamic Terrorism’; the altering of words to describe terrorist activities – a Man Made event; the fiasco in Benghazi; etc, etc. The Brown Clown’s record is replete with inflaming blacks against whites and Muslims against the US.
In these events ignorance, has been a key ingredient because truth has been mostly hidden through a duplicitous media that will not tell truth – instead they promote fake news and lies – people must look to find the truth. It is out there but not with ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Associated Press, Reuters, Washington Post, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, The Guardian, Google, Yahoo, The Huffington Post. Unless someone watches Fox News there is no way some semblance of the truth would be known. People would need to search the web for conservative websites or listen to talk radio to get the real skinny.
The political class has greatly contributed to the suppression of knowledge and truth as this an anathema to getting re-elected. An aware and knowledgeable voting group is the last thing people want. Really it is the last thing the Democratic Party wants. All the better to control you victim groups – blacks, women, poor, LGBT, illegal immigrants, Muslims, millennials. Don’t tell the truth, don’t provide them with knowledge and do not enforce the laws of the country.
Out of all this mess rises Colin Kaepernick to stage a joke of a protest beginning last summer. That single event started to draw back the curtain to reveal the level of ignorance in sports at its finest. It was laughable from the beginning and stunning in its show of ignorance. And athletes and others in sports jumped on the bandwagon because they agreed with Kaepernick or because of political correctness. Nothing like the marriage of ignorance and political correctness to unite a group of idiots. These people wrapped themselves in the flag of patriotism when patriotism was not the issue – it was knowledge and truth. And these people were and are to obtuse to figure it out. Regardless, this was the event that put sports ignorance on the front page.
And all of this before the day of critical mass – November 8, 2017 and the election of Donald Trump.
Now notwithstanding the un-electability of the hugely corrupt, unqualified and generally offensive Hillary Clinton, the victim groups in the US along with the media suffered a total nervous breakdown. On that day, they were all ‘snowflakes’ and the meltdown has been sublime and continues. Which is even more sublime.
Running on a platform supported by the majority of Americans – not 50 plus 1 – Trump and the not silent now majority disavowed the policies of the Democrat Party and the Brown Clown. It was a massive political repudiation. The US is not liberal, not progressive and does not support the America-killing policies of the BC and the Democrat Party. It has been a solid and profound denunciation that tells them all to go away. The election has accelerated the dissolving of the Democrat Party and it policies.
A major policy objective of President Trump is to secure the borders of the US and to protect the citizenry from Islamic Terrorism. And from the very first day after inauguration, Mr. Trump has made move to do just that. And he has done it using actions THAT WERE INITIATED BY THE DEMOCRAT PARTY, CONGRESS, AND THE BROWN CLOWN.
The sports world erupted in anger over the Executive Actions signed by Mr. Trump. Notable sports figures – Steve Kerr; Gregg Popovich, Rhonda Rousey; – to name a few provided statements to the press or went on socially-poison media to express their sentiments. See some, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. They wanted to show their disgust and shame and whatever else that gave them gravitas within the sports world. What they don’t know is how blatantly ignorant these statements are and how grossly ignorant they have shown to be. The pervasiveness of the ignorance is truly breathtaking.
The wife of Pat Tillman also put out a statement not realizing her ignorance. And worse, Mrs. Tillman, along with the others, are totally clueless with respect to what Mr. Trump’s actions said and what they are intended to do. This is profound willful ignorance.

Now after reading and discovering he truth, what would they say now? And furthermore, if this does not alter their perspective, are they prepared for the consequences of their ‘beliefs’? Will Mrs. Tillman, Popovich; Kerr; Rousey; and all the other sports records take personal responsibility for the tragedies and death that will absolutely come to pass if immigrants – ESPECIALLY FROM MUSLIM COUNTRIES – are not fully vetted and screened before gaining admittance to the US? With they take personal responsibility for the American deaths that will surely occur from another shooting or bombing on US soil? What will be their reply to the mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, that lose the ones they love in an Islamic Terrorist attack when they are asked “how could you not support Mr. Trump’s actions”?
It is pathetic, in a general sense, that people are willfully ignorant. The negative impact to the country because of sports figures being willfully ignorant is even more tragic since they are given tremendous cache by kids and others. The negative impact is increased exponentially when those in sports are aided and abetted by a corrupt political class, a duplicitous and despicable media (augmented by truly ignorant millennials who are progressive by inculcation), and political correctness.
Let’s make it very simple for these brainless people by summing up what has transpired:
This is a TEMPORARY situation to FULY VET individuals coming from terrorist countries allowing the US to improve its overall vetting process
Top intelligent officials in the US say that ISIS fighters embed themselves in the immigrant population
The particulars of the travel ban were already initiated by the Brown Clown and Congress
All the protests are fully orchestrated by groups sponsored by George Soros – they are not spontaneous
Leaders in some countries in the Middle East – Jordan, Dubai – agree with the ban to keep terrorists out of the US
Around 100 people were delayed out of 325,000
THEY ARE AT WAR WITH US – do anyone with any intelligence really thinks this will change the mindset of Islamic terrorists?

It is almost impossible to think that it could get any worse, but these people will not move off the Democrat Party/liberal/progressive/Marxist orthodoxy for love nor money. They will not educate themselves, they fear retribution, they fear political correctness, they fear for not being one of the cool kids. It is sickening.
It is terrible to think and imagine that they only thing that will change their mindset is some catastrophe or conflagration that provides them a Colonel Nicholson moment. But that seems to be the case and will be the only thing that sets them straight.
